SHELTERING TREE FOR INSPIRATION CHALLENGE
Welcome to this week’s challenge with the Paper Craft Crew Design Team! This week, I used an ‘old’ favourite from the Annual catalogue, Sheltering Tree for Inspiration challenge. Have a look at the inspiration, and then decide which stamp set or bundle you will use.
PCC312 INSPIRATION CHALLENGE
Isn’t this perfect for this time of year? Well, if you’re here in Canada, or even in North America, it is! All I have to do is look out my window to see the leaves changing colour, and covering the sidewalks and paths. Which is why I decided to use my Sheltering Tree stamp set for this week’s challenge.
I decided to create path between 2 trees, so you can see I followed the inspiration closely! Honestly, I don’t feel that today’s card is up to my usual standards. I threw out my back last Tuesday, a whole week ago, and it’s still not better yet. This makes bending, stretching, even pressing down very difficult and painful to do. Even though I used my Stamparatus!
CARD FRONT DETAILS
I set up the tree image from Sheltering Tree on my Stamparatus, and first stamped the tree trunk in Crumb Cake ink. Add some shading to the tree trunk by colouring down the left side with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker. Next, stamp the leaves multiple times, cleaning off the stamp between colours. Doing this with the Stamparatus makes it easy, especially with the Simpy Shammy. I used So Saffron, Cajun Craze and Real Red ink pads for the leaves. I then stamped the tree trunk again onto a Post-it Note, and created a mask for it. After masking off the tree trunk, I stamped the path in Gray Granite ink. I then stamped the 2nd tree in the background, repeating the colours (except for the Real Red) for the leaves.
For the grass, I used a Sponge Dauber and the Granny Apple Green ink pad. For the sky, I used another Sponge Dauber and the Pool Party ink pad. I then stamped a few of the leaves onto the grass area, under the trees. Wind a length of Linen Thread twice around the left side of the stamped panel.
The sentiment is stamped in Cajun Craze ink onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock.
LAYERING IT UP
Create a card base from Granny Apple Green cardstock. Next, layer a panel of Nature’s Poem DSP in the upper left corner with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Now attach the front panel, with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finish off the front by attaching the sentiment with Dimensionals. Finally, attach one of the Leaves Trinkets in Copper above the sentiment. It holds in place very well by putting a piece of Tear & Tape on the back.
Just a little bit of layering steps this card up!
