Stylish Stems Card Swap

Today I’m back to share with you my Stylish Stems card swap card.  Yesterday, I shared my 1st card swap, made with the High Tide stamp set.  If you missed that post, you can CLICK HERE TO READ IT.

It’s funny that one of the other swap members, who recently joined as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, used the same Stylish Stems Framelits and the Special Reason stamp set – yet our cards were different.  I’ll be sharing her card in my next post.

Stylish Stems Card Swap

When I first got the Special Reason stamp set last November, at the Regional On Stage Convention, I admit – it wasn’t my favourite, at the time.  I was too smitten after seeing the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set!  However, after I saw so many terrific samples using it with the coordinating Stylish Stems Framelits, I just had to get the Framelits, too.  You definitely want to take advantage of the fact that you can Bundle the 2 together, and save 10% off the combined purchase price!

Pairing this set with the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper is my favourite. Especially when I add in the exclusive Sale-A-Bration Glimmer Paper – it just makes it POP!

The large flower is die cut into a panel of Shimmery White cardstock, using the Big Shot.  I stamped the smaller flowers on Whisper White, in Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum and Tip Top Taupe ink.  The sentiment is in Sweet Sugarplum ink, and the frame in Tip Top Taupe.  Using the Big Shot and Stylish Stems Framelits, the flowers, sentiment and frame are all die cut.

A strip of Succulent Garden DSP is layered down the right side of the die cut panel.  Next a length of Sweet Sugarplum 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon is layered beside it.  The Glimmer Paper in Sweet Sugarplum is die cut using the flower outline from the Stylish Stems Framelits, and placed behind the die cut.

In the picture above, you can see the continuation of the sentiment on the inside of the card.  Finally, a stamped flower in Sweet Sugarplum ink in the bottom corner is added.

Did you know that you can purchase my cards?  I do make a lot of cards, and if you see a card design you like, you can buy it!  All you have to do is send me an email at, and we’ll work out the details.  If I only have a sample card and you need more than 1, I will make them up for you.  Of course, you can always purchase the products I used to make my cards by clicking on the images below.  You’ll go straight to my online store, where you can shop 24/7.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :)

    1. Thanks, Buffy! It seems like this stamp set and the Succulent Garden DSP were just meant for each other, doesn’t it? I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment 🙂

  1. Deb, this swap card is beautiful!! I haven’t cut into my SAB glimmer paper but you are providing the motivation. As Buffy said, your combination of products is wonderful

    1. Jackie, I always hoard the papers I love – but this time I was determined to USE it!! 🙂 I really love these colours – is it too much to hope that the non-retiring colours will come back in glimmer paper?? Thanks so much for your comment 🙂

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
