THIS PUN’S FOR YOU!
Welcome to the March Scrap ‘N Stamp Blog Hop! The Design Team is here to tickle your funny bone, so get ready to have pun! If you haven’t guessed yet, the title for our Hop is This Pun’s For You!, so we’ve pulled out all the stops and our punniest, funniest, snarkiest humour stamps, just for you!
If you’ve never ‘hopped’ before, it’s super easy! At the end of my post, you’ll see a link to Kia’s post, who is after me in the Hop. You’ll find a link at the end of Kia’s post to Nancy E., and so on. As long as you keep clicking that next link, you’ll make your way around the entire hop, and see all of the amazing projects! There will also be a list at the end of each blog post with the entire list of links, if you want to do some random hopping, or go back for second looks.
Be sure to leave a comment on EACH blog post – because there are PRIZES to be won! There’s a total of 8 Punny Packs and 1 prize of a $50 Scrap ‘N Stamp Gift Certificate! Winners are randomly chosen, so the more comments you leave, the more chances you’ll have.
LET’S GET ON ‘WIT’ IT!
Okay – with those housekeeping bits done – let’s get wit it! *wink* If you’ve hopped from the start with Tara at the Scrap ‘N Stamp blog, you’ll have arrived here from seeing Susan’s fabulous project. Did you have a good laugh?! She’s a great artist, too. Today, I’m sharing a card made with the My Favorite Things Friends at First Sip stamp set. You may recall that I used this set in last month’s hop (you can see it here), but this card looks totally different! I love versatile sets.
FRIENDS AT FIRST SIP
I love that this stamp set has matching dies for the stamps; it makes life so much easier, and you can do so much more with cut out images.
CARD FRONT DETAILS
Start with a panel of white cardstock, and bring out your distress inks and blending tools. Start with the lightest colour, and blend from top to bottom of the panel. I used Shabby Shutters, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch ink, applied with my Tim Holtz Blending Tool.
After blending the inks, lightly spray some water on the ink; they’re water reactive, so that it lightens the ink where the water lands. When the water is dry, add some splatters from a Wink of Stella gold ink pen on top. Set the panel aside to dry completely, while you work on your images.
Stamp the 2 friends images, plus the little cup & steam, in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto white cardstock. Cover the images with Clear embossing powder, and set with a heat tool. Next, colour your images with your favourite colouring medium; by heat setting the outline stamping, you’re safe to use whichever medium you choose. I used my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers. (note that you don’t have to colour the entire image of the friends, as part of them will be cut off at the bottom). Once finished with the colouring, use your die cutting machine with the matching Friends at First Sip Dies to die cut each image. Next, use some stitched squares dies to die cut to openings in the top left and bottom right corners, as in the photo above.
The last thing you need to do is stamp the sentiment from the Friends at First Sip stamp set onto a white cardstock strip, the same width as the front panel. I once again stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne, and set it with clear embossing powder.
LAYER IT TOGETHER
Now you’re ready to put it all together! Put foam tape on the back of your blended panel. Insert the ladies where you want them, and make sure they’re attached, before snipping off the excess parts (their legs). Now attach the panel to a panel of white cardstock, the same size as this one. Attach the sentiment panel across the middle, with either glue or more foam tape or squares.
Finally, attach the little die cut cup above the sentiment, and glue the steam above the cup lid. How cute is this?!
MAKE LIKE A BUNNY – AND HOP!
I hope you enjoyed my project for the hop, and enjoyed the little play on words in the sentiment! Now it’s time for you to first leave a comment here, so you’ll be entered for the prizes! Then, you’ll need to make like a bunny and hop over to Kia’s blog, and have a laugh at her punny project, as well as admire her amazing skills at stamping!
If you’ve been inspired by my card, and would like to shop for any of the supplies I’ve used, the links to the Scrap ‘N Stamp store can be found underneath the Blog Hop Links. Thanks for Hopping with us today!
