Hello there! Are you ready for a new challenge with the Paper Craft Crew? I hope so – this week is a Vertical Sketch Challenge. I hope you like the layout of the sketch – let’s have a look.
PCC353 VERTICAL SKETCH CHALLENGE
Okay – so this is embarrassing! Here I’ve called it a ‘vertical’ sketch challenge, when clearly, the photo above shows the project in horizontal mode. Obviously, when I looked at the sketch, I paid too much attention to the focal area, and not the entire layout. Well! What to do….. tell you what – you just do what you want, and I’ll stick with what I did!
INKED BUD THANK YOU
So – now that I’ve let loose the spoiler – here is my vertical card!
My face is almost as red as this rosebud! Anyway, moving on….I used the pretty Inked Bud stamp set by Altenew for my focal image, as well as the sentiment.
Start with a small panel of white cardstock, and stamp the rosebud image in Nocturne ink. Cover it with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Stamp the sentiment onto a small length of the same cardstock in the same ink, and repeat the embossing process.
Next, use your favourite alcohol markers to colour the image. I chose the Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler Blends and Old Olive Blends combos. Attach your coloured panel onto a dark green cardstock piece with foam tape. Add a length of red scalloped ribbon to the right hand side, just 3/4’s of the way down. Attach the sentiment across the bottom, with more foam tape.
To create the background panel, lay the Altenew Beach Towel Stripes Stencil across the white cardstock. Hold it in place with some Purple Tape. Now, apply some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink with an blending tool to just partial areas, where it will show from behind the focal area.
Remove & clean your stencil. Now attach the image panel to the card front, over the stenciled area. Attach the panel to a red cardstock panel with foam tape, and then finally to a heavy-weight white card base.
Finish off your card by adding a few frosted drops to the top left.
