Watercolour Pencils for the Win!

Hey stamping friend! Right now, our Stampin’ Blends Markers are unavailable due to a supplier issue. So, I wanted to share with you another way to do some beautiful colouring. Watercolour Pencils for the Win! I love using these for a soft effect.

I used the Petal Palette stamp set for the beautiful roses.

Watercolour Pencils for the Win!

Good news – the Petal Palette stamp set and it’s coordinating Petals & More Thinlits are carrying over – but if you want to get the 10% Discount on the Bundle, you’ll have to buy it before May 31st! So be kind to your wallet, and get it now 🙂

Die cut an oval from Whisper White cardstock using the Big Shot and the Layering Ovals Thinlits. Then stamp the roses image from the Petal Palette stamp set in Memento black ink.  Colour in the roses with the Rich Razzleberry Watercolor Pencil, and blend it with a Blender Pen, to get shading. Do the same with the leaves, using the Old Olive Pencil. After colouring the leaves and flowers, add some shading around the images by lightly adding some Bermuda Bay Pencil all around, then blending it with the Blender Pen. This creates some depth to your image.

Die cut the label shape from the Petals & More Thinlits in Basic Black cardstock. Stamp the sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set in Versamark ink, and cover it with White Embossing Powder. Heat set the powder with the Heat Tool. Next, die cut the intricate shape in Whisper White cardstock, also from the Petals & More Thinlits.

Layer the coloured oval onto a panel of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next, layer the sentiment label and die cut on top of each other, and add underneath the image oval. Now layer this panel onto a panel of Rich Razzleberry cardstock, then onto your Thick Whisper White cards base.

If this card looks familiar, that’s because it’s my CASE version from page 22 of the Occasions catalogue!

As I mentioned, while the individual items are carrying over, the Bundle pricing for the combination of the Petal Palette stamp set and the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits is not – so get that discount while supplies last, or May 31st, whichever happens first! The DSP, embellishments and the White organza ribbon are also retiring, and are while supplies last. You can order these products in my online store; just click the product images or my signature, below.

If you order in April, and your order is $50 or more, please use Host Code KWPTAWEH, and I’ll send you a ‘thank you’ in May!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

    1. Confession time, Susan! I don’t own the Petal Palette set; I was borrowing it from one of my team! 🙂 But I still think you should get it!

    1. Thanks Buffy! It’s been a while since I’ve used my pencils; it was nice to bring them out again.

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
