Hello again, my stamping friend!
First, let me apologize for my absence; there is a reason! Last week I woke up with vertigo, and to my dismay, it didn’t go away after one day; in fact, it lasted until the end of the week! Now, I always used to equate ‘vertigo’ with ‘feeling dizzy’. Boy, was I wrong! Everyone feels dizzy or a bit lightheaded regularly; it’s a momentary thing; you sit or stand still for a moment, it passes, and life goes on. Vertigo, on the other hand – well, if you’ve had it, you know what it’s like. Suddenly, the world starts doing somersaults around you, continuously, and you can’t hang on! Your heart pounds, pulse races, panic sets in – this is all your bodies reaction to the vertigo, which is normal. The first time I had vertigo, which was just over a year ago – I had no idea what was going on- it felt like I was going to die!
Fortunately, this time I knew what it was, and that I just had to ‘hang on’ until it was over.
So now I’m back, and after a few failed attempts, (it was tough getting my creativity back!), I have a card to share with you, which I made for the Watercooler Challenge ‘Anything Goes’ – WWC35. I figured it was a safe one to dip my toe back into the challenge pool!
Since I’ve been working on Christmas themes lately, I decided to stay with that, and this is my card:
First I stamped the image from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set in our new Archival Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I then inked up the same image with our Craft White ink, and stamped it again, on top but slightly to the right of the 1st stamped image.
I then took the Softly Falling Embossing Folder, and applied Perfect Plum, Pool Party and Night of Navy inks directly to the de-bossed side of the folder using Sponge Daubers. I then placed the panel of Whisper White cardstock inside the folder, closed it & ran it through the Big Shot.
Using my Signo Gel Pen in White, I added snow to the branches of the trees, as well as in the grass at the bottom of the trees. I then cut the panel into 3 pieces, and attached them to a panel of Night of Navy cardstock, then attached it to a card base of Real Red cardstock.
The sentiment is from the White Christmas stamp set, which I stamped in Real Red ink on Whisper White, and cut a banner tail at one end. I attached it the bottom of the stamped panels, and added on of the the retired snowflake embellishments from last year’s holiday catalogue.
I hope you’ll go check out the Watercooler Challenge page – there’s a new challenge every Wednesday for you to join, and I must say – there’s a lot of fabulous cards from the design team and submissions for this challenge! Inspiration galore! 🙂
