It’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday challenge – thanks for joining me!
This week Marsha has selected to do a theme challenge – and this one is about ‘TAGS’. You can create a gift tag, a decorative tag, a tag on a card – whatever kind you choose, as long as there’s a tag involved 🙂
I decided to go with a tag on a card – here it is:
I’m still enjoying playing with my Floral Phrases suite – although this time, I used on the stamp set and the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.
I started with a card base of Sweet Sugarplum, then added a layer of Whisper White cardstock. On top of that I chose this full floral pattern from the Floral Boutique DSP – I love that it mimics the large flower image in the stamp set.
I created my tags using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch; I punched both the Night of Navy and the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock at the same time, pulling the Sweet Sugarplum down just a bit to offset it from the Night of Navy. After gluing them together using Tombow liquid glue, I stamped the sentiment from Floral Phrases directly onto the Sweet Sugarplum tag, using Night of Navy ink.
On scrap Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the large flower image twice in Night of Navy ink, and hand cut one of the out in full. With the second flower, I cut out several different petals, and layered them on top of the stamped image, to give it more depth. This picture below will show a close up:
To finish off the card, I tied a piece of the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon through the tag opening, and attached the tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
This card went together quite quickly (aside from the fussy cutting); I think it could be done in multiples as a ‘thank you’ card, for a wedding or bridal shower.
I do hope you’ll join in this fun challenge this week – please check out the fabulous projects that the rest of the Watercooler Artists have put together (they’re not all cards!), then join in the fun!
Until next time – happy stamping!
Love your tag card Deborah. I can’t wait to play with my Floral Phrases suite when it arrives. Your picture is deceptive as before reading your note I thought your card was created with black and a rust colour. So, although I really like that combination I was thrilled to hear it was Sugarplum and Navy which is awesome together! Love that DSP and those roses. Thanks for sharing!
